Definition of Restorative Dentistry
These interventions are focused on repairing teeth that have been lost, fractured, or otherwise compromised, helping you regain a natural smile and normal bite function.
Depending on your specific case, our clinical team will recommend the most appropriate approach to restore your oral structure and functionality.

Tooth Caps and Fixed Replacements
Crowns are custom-made ceramic coverings that strengthen damaged teeth, support prosthetic devices, or enhance aesthetics. They can help to restore the function and appearance of teeth. They can also help restore the appearance of a discolored or stained tooth to its natural state.
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth.

Endodontic Therapy
Root canal procedures involve cleaning and sealing the internal canals of infected or injured teeth to prevent extraction and maintain structure. By removing the decay and bacteria, your dentist can help halt the spread of infection and prevent the need for an extraction.
Further restoration will need to be completed such as a dental crown or filling to regain the functionality of the tooth.
After the procedure, with proper care, most teeth that have had root canal treatment can last a lifetime.

Precision Fillings – Inlays/Onlays
For decay or damage that surpasses what a standard filling can address, lab-created porcelain inlays and onlays are bonded to preserve integrity.
Inlays and onlays are tooth-coloured porcelain fillings used to repair cavities when the damage is too extensive for a standard dental filling. They are custom-made in a dental laboratory and are then permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.

Tooth-Colored Restoration
We use resin-based fillings to repair minor to moderate decay or fractures, offering strength and an inconspicuous appearance.
At Orchard Dental, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings to repair a cavity or tooth damage, like a crack. These fillings can withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing, and can be used on front and back teeth.
